Emotional compass to point child survivors of domestic violence homicide in the right direction. Not just only do they suffer the loss of their victim parent, but they often lose both parents instantaneously when the abusive parent is incarcerated or takes his or her life. Children who revel this kind of loss grapple with the complex grief which comes along with losing their parent(s) abruptly and tragically. They may feel infuriated and baffled as they try to comprehend how one parent or caregiver could take the other’s life.
